Dialogue :[
Well it turns out all that confidence unfortunately didn't amount to much with this one. I ended up getting continually frustrated with even the initial first frame (which took me 2 freaking hours to draw and was still trash >:U). Past that I ended up going back and forth so many times on just the first 3 words of dialogue. I thought I'd have it figured out by now and that having most of the mouth shapes being available to copy would make the other half of the animation easier to finish, but I ended up never really figuring out everything. I thought at this point in the semester that I'd at least be just a little more comfortable drawing in The Owl House style, but I seem to be limited to just Hootie and Luz in profile. I apparently really struggle with drawing the CalArts "bean head" consistently, as most of what I've drawn up until this class were usually more anatomically correct even when stylized.
There were these much simpler characters I used to draw that were much more free form that I probably should've used for this project in retrospect. Could've added a lot more life to them while still hopefully getting decent lip-sync out of them. I'm really just not at all that comfortable with digital art at this point, and having to animate characters in a style I'm not used to in a software I kind of hate was definitely counter-intuitive to getting anything done. If it takes me longer than an hour to draw one basic frame, I should probably reconsider having to do the same for the next 119 frames.
